Alvinette Downing McCleave

Alvinette Downing McCleave is the daughter of two exceptional educators and Tuskegee Airmen, Alvin and Bunny Downing, a parent of four wonderfully successful adult children and a grandmother of three. She is the President of the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association, a nonprofit that her father started over 50 years ago to promote and encourage the appreciation of Jazz, its origin and evolution through concerts and educational programs for youth. Alvinette is actively involved in the preservation and perpetuation of Jazz as the original American art form created by African Americans. She is also the Founder and CEO of Creative Intelligence Educational Mentors, LLC., an online wholistic approach to teaching & tutoring homeschooled and public-schooled students from PreK to College in myriad subjects. From 2016-2017, she taught Life and Physical Science to Chinese high school students at Southlands School Qingdao in China. Alvinette is also a writer and voiceover actor who has created and voiced several Moody Broadcasting radio commercials and an audio textbook. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Colorado and has completed post-graduate studies toward a Dual Masters in Biblical Counseling and Media & Communication from Dallas Theological Seminary. As a scientist and an educator, Alvinette has always been interested in alternative healing sources. She has studied and practiced homeopathy, reflexology and yoga for over 30 years. As a Mindful Movement Yoga instructor, she loves sharing this knowledge with the community of St. Petersburg. Her most recent project, The Sounds of Healing Podcast, was birthed from Alvinette’s passion for music as a healing resource and her yearning to educate others.
